About the Practice

An independent practice, set up to do one thing carefully.

Suvarna Group works with manufacturing, distribution, and service organisations in Thailand. We are not a large consultancy. We work with a small number of clients at any given time, which lets us give each engagement the attention it needs.

Our Story

How Suvarna Group came to be.

Suvarna Group was established in Bangkok in 2017 by a team of operations practitioners who had spent the preceding decade working inside manufacturing and distribution businesses across Southeast Asia. The founding observation was simple: most operational difficulties that firms face are not caused by a lack of effort on the part of their teams. They tend to arise from the way work is structured — the handoffs, the measurements, the habits that accumulate over time without anyone having explicitly designed them.

The practice was set up to offer an outside reading of those structures — not to impose a methodology, but to bring a considered perspective to what is actually happening and to open up questions that are difficult to pose from the inside.

Over the years, we have worked with firms in food and beverage manufacturing, logistics and third-party distribution, healthcare services, and professional services. The nature of each sector varies, but the underlying questions — about flow, measurement, and coordination — tend to recur in recognisable forms.

Mission

What we are here to do.

Our aim in each engagement is to leave an organisation with greater clarity about its operations than it had before — and with a team that can carry that clarity forward independently. We are not interested in creating dependency on outside advisors.

We work on the assumption that the people closest to the operation — the supervisors, coordinators, and front-line managers — usually understand the work better than anyone. Our role is to help surface and structure what they already know, and to add an outside perspective where it may be useful.

Core Values
  • Honesty over comfort. We say what we observe, even when it is not what a client was hoping to hear.
  • Specificity over generality. Generic frameworks serve the consultant, not the client.
  • Collaboration over review. We work alongside operating teams, not above them.
  • Modest claims. We do not overstate what a short engagement can deliver.
The Team

The people behind each engagement.

Our engagements are staffed by practitioners with direct operations experience, not by analysts fresh from a graduate programme. Below are the people you are likely to work with.

PR

Priya Ratanasiri

Principal Consultant

Priya leads most diagnostic and process improvement engagements. She spent twelve years in supply chain and distribution management before moving into consulting, and brings a methodical, grounded approach to operational review work.

KW

Kanchana Wiriyakit

Senior Advisor

Kanchana advises on advisory retainer engagements and brings experience from both manufacturing operations and regional business management. She is particularly useful in engagements where organisational dynamics are a significant factor.

AT

Arthit Tangsermkit

Process Analyst

Arthit supports process mapping and documentation across engagements. He has a background in industrial engineering and is responsible for producing current-state and future-state documentation of a quality that clients can actually use.

Standards of Practice

How we conduct our work.

Each engagement is conducted according to a consistent set of professional standards, regardless of size or scope.

Confidentiality

All information shared during an engagement is treated as confidential. We do not discuss client work with other clients or reference it in marketing materials.

Written Deliverables

Every engagement produces a clear written output. We avoid delivering findings only in verbal or slide form, which tends to lose specificity over time.

Staff Involvement

We include your operating staff in the process from the start. Findings that the team has participated in developing are more likely to be acted upon.

Scoped Engagements

We agree on a defined scope before work begins and hold to it. We do not expand the engagement without explicit discussion and agreement.

Timely Delivery

We deliver written outputs within the timeframes agreed. If circumstances change, we communicate that clearly rather than letting deadlines pass unacknowledged.

Honest Reporting

We report what we observe, including observations that may not be comfortable to receive. A polished report that avoids the difficult findings is of limited practical use.

Operations Consulting in Thailand

Context and expertise.

Thailand's manufacturing and distribution sectors have developed considerably over the past two decades, and the operational challenges that firms face reflect that development. Growth that was once absorbed informally — through additional headcount or extended working hours — has reached a point where structural attention to process is often more productive than further resource additions.

Suvarna Group brings an understanding of operating conditions in Bangkok and the wider Thai industrial context. We are familiar with the labour relations norms, the logistics infrastructure, and the supplier landscape that shape day-to-day operations for firms working in this environment.

Professional Background

What we bring to each engagement.

Our team's background is in operations itself, not in consulting about operations. The distinction matters: it means we approach a process map or a scheduling problem from the perspective of someone who has had to make it work in a real environment, with real constraints.

We are members of the Thailand Management Association and maintain ongoing connections with operations practitioners across the region, which helps us remain current on the methods and tools that are proving useful in comparable settings.

We are glad to discuss your situation and what an appropriate starting point might look like. The initial conversation is informal and carries no commitment.
